Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Review

I tried the Shampoo, conditioner and 1-minute treatment from the Hydra Recharge line by Garnier Fructis and it worked really well for me. I have long, thick, coarse color-treated hair. My hair feels light and silky.
This was a BzzAgent campaign, so I did receive the products free of charge to review. If you haven’t joined BzzAgent, you should, it’s a lot of fun!! http://www.bzzagent.com

Garnier Olia and my first BzzAgent Campaign

Hello everyone! I posted here about getting accepted into my first BzzAgent campaign, and last week I received my first Bzzkit on the Garnier Olia oil powered hair-color. It was a large envelope with a coupon for a free box of the haircolor in the shade of my choice and some info on the product I was going to be trying out.

I wanted the lightest shade possible, but the lightest I could find was called “Medium blonde 8.0”. Looking back it’s probably a good thing I didn’t go lighter, it may not have turned out as well as it did.

So excited to get started!

I like the sunflower, makes me think of beautiful blonde hair 🙂

When I got home I took everything out of the box, marveled, took some photos and got started. The box contained the developer, color, conditioner, and an instruction manual and black plastic gloves. I have done at home hair-color in the past, as well as had it done at the salon by a professional. The product was easy to mix and the directions very easy to follow, but like I said I’ve done at home hair-color before. The applicator is different than any I have seen, sort of a bulb type applicator that you squeeze. The bulb-like applicator is also used to mix the product.

The contents of the box

You simply mix products 1 and 2 together in the bulb, then apply to your hair and leave in 20-30 minutes depending on if you are doing a root touch up or an all over hair-color. I left mine in for about 45 minutes because my hair is notorious for not taking color. Like other ladies who have tried the haircolor have said, the scent was WAY BETTER than any other dye I’ve tried including the dye used at the salon. I didn’t have any issues with the applicator slipping out of my hand, but I had read about some other ladies having that issue, so I kept a roll of paper towels to dry my gloves when they started to get slippery. I should have focused more on my roots, but all in all the color looks pretty good. I would repurchase in the future and recommend it to others. I like the fact it’s oil powered and I don’t feel like I’m doing as much damage to my hair as I normally do when I use a hair-color. It felt soft and looked shiny after using the enclosed conditioning treatment which also smelled very nice.

Before, roots roots everywhere!

Check out that dimension!

Didn’t get underneath (I have VERY thick hair) super well, but all in all I like it a lot!

All in all pretty satisfied with the product and very excited I found BzzAgent. Does anyone else participate in BzzAgent Campaigns? If so what is your favorite Campaign you’ve participated in? Please comment below and let me know!

My first BzzAgent Campaign

Image

If you haven’t heard of BzzAgent, it’s essentially a “word of mouth” website that uses regular people to test out products. Then those people or “Agents” “Bzz” aka gossip or talk about said products, and it’s a great way for companies to get exposure and market towards their targeted audience. They have what they call campaigns where they choose people based on answers to surveys and send them product to test. It says in the site’s FAQs that it may be months before you are invited to a campaign, but I must be lucky because I got my first Campaign invite in less than 1 week! So I’m stoked. It’s for a new permanent hair dye system by Garnier called Olia.Image

I am going to be completely honest. I got so excited about the invite I accepted it without really looking at what it was. I usually get my hair done at the salon every 6 weeks on the dot. So I’m a little nervous. I have A LOT of hair and I haven’t had any luck with at home dying kits in the past. But, I did some thinking and I am going to try it. You Only Live Once, right?ImageImage

I will probably choose a shade similar to my hair color now so it won’t be a huge difference. We’ll see. I’m terrified, but we’ll see. Wish me luck. I will definitely do a follow up post with before and after pics. If you’re interested here is their website. http://www.bzzagent.comÂ
