I was browsing etsy for new Indie polish makers and I was drawn immediately to the shop of Me.Lissa Lacquer. I really loved the glitter creations I saw so I reached out to her and showed her my blog and she immediately responded. I was so excited by what she said. She told me she just graduated pharmacy school!!! I am thrilled to know another pharmacist that loves polish as much as me, and the fact that’s she’s been able to run her shop and create polish while finishing up pharmacy school means that she can probably do just about anything!! Seriously folks, that is no easy task.
All Me.Lissa lacquer polishes are always 3-free and hand blended. Full sizes retail for $8.50 and minis are $4.50. She also does custom polishes!
Today I’m showcasing the Social Media collection. All color swatches were done with my usual Seche base coat, 3 coats of polish, and OPI top coat. For all glitter swatches my pinky nail will show 2 coats of glitter polish alone with top coat, my ring finger will show 2 coats of glitter over Butter London Union Jack Black with top coat, my middle finger will show 2 coats of glitter over Essie Marshmallow with top coat, and my index finger will show a glitter sandwich using 1 coat of Julep glaze in Candy followed by 2 coats of glitter, followed by another coat of Candy, no top coat. All glitter macro shots will be of just the glitter polish with top coat.
First up we have Internet Stardom.
A gorgeous mix of gold and white stars, teal, orange and teal hexes, and squares of varying sizes. It’s a bright and fun polish and creates such an amazing look!
I have a thing for stars so I loved this! I think my favorite combo is over the black polish. Reminds me of dreams I used to have as a child where I was flying through a beautiful night sky full of stars. I did have to do some fishing for the stars, but it was easy to do with the pointy end of a toothpick. I think this is expected with most glitter polishes of this nature. The suspension base was easy to work with and spread nicely.
Next is Abuzz.
A very pretty pale yellow cream polish with tiny black hex glitter. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Looks like a mini bumble bee on the nail. Such a pretty color!
This being a yellow, I was expecting application to be difficult, but it totally wasn’t!! Quite the opposite actually. I wore this one to work and got several compliments on my “funky yellow polish”. The moment I had my afternoon snack, I realized that this polish reminds me of the skin of a perfectly ripe banana.
Next we have Viral Video.
It has a mixture of neon pink, neon blue, neon green and black squares, rectangles and hexes. Inspired by colorful artistic renderings of viral structures from my textbooks, I decided to use the same bold colors in this polish. I absolutely love how it came out! It looks just like a virus protein structure. Just look how amazing this polish is!! The bright neons are incredible and look stunning on the nail.
This was fun to apply and no fishing required. The glitter very easily smoothed over my nail and the base coat polishes to create a stunning neon portrait. I like this over black and white, but white just a little bit better because you can still see the tiny black glitter.
The last full color from this collection is Like.
A gorgeous grayish-blue polish with tiny silver microglitter. Opaque in 2-3 coats.
This is merely pretty in the bottle, but gorgeous on the nail!! It transformed my nail into a starry sky at dusk. It was so pretty and easy to work with. One of my favorites from this collection.
Last, but certainly not least is the last glitter from this collection, #MeLissa
It has a mixture of neon pink, matte pink, white, gray, silver, purple and black squares, rectangles and hexes. I absolutely LOVE this polish!! It’s so pretty and looks amazing! The neon pink glitter just pops off the nail!
I think this one is really stunning over black and alone! I love the pink and white squares and rectangles, so unique!
I had a lot of fun swatching these. This was my first time swatching glitter over solid colors and it was so much fun!!
