Julep Mystery Box: Hooray For May!

I just got my 3rd Julep Mystery box. The theme is “Hooray For May!” and the boxes feature 2 new brights, Charlie, a yellow and Korin, a green. I received version 2 containing Charlie, and it resembled this:

Alice, Charlie, Avery, Vanessa, Sharon, & Grace

I was very excited because I LOVE all these colors AND there were no dupes to colors I already own!!!!! Yahoooo this mystery box was a success. From looking at other mystery box photos, I am gathering that this set of mystery boxes is all polish. I am ok with that just this once, but I really like the beauty products included in most mystery boxes.

1. Alice-Antique lilac shimmer-This was part of May’s Maven theme it was my “extra” polish in the little drawstring bag. I was thrilled to get this!!

2. Charlie-Neon Yellow-This was one of the new bright shades featured in the mystery boxes for this month.

Thanks to Betty’s Beauty Bombs for this swatch of Charlie.

3. Avery-Hot pink Creme-I love hot pinks! This is from April’s maven boxes.

4.Vanessa-Glitter top coat-can’t ever have enough of those!

Image

5. Sharon-Dark, bold red shimmer-I am so excited for this, I love reds!

Image

6. Grace-Classic go-to light pink sheer-This looks very nice to do a French Mani with.

Overall very happy with all the colors!

Now enjoy some pictures of nail polishes. 🙂

If you’d still like to order a Hooray it’s May! Mystery box you can do so HERE

Julep Hooray for May! Mystery box

UPDATE: see my unboxing post HERE.

I got an email from Julep today for yet ANOTHER mystery box. And I got another one. *sigh* It’s like an addiction for me I suppose. I live for the anticipation of discovering what’s in my mystery box.

This month’s box is called Hooray for May!

Image

Do ya’ll think it will be a bright green and a bright yellow?

Again, the cost is $24.99, and again Julep promises $70-$200 worth of goodies, but this time they are also including a bonus nail color in a cute giftable bag. Or in my case, a bag for ME. (I like little bags)

Image

The email also describes “2 New Brights” that each box will include at least 1 of, to help us transition from spring to summer, as if I had any trouble transitioning to summer. Seriously though, I’d love a bright coral shade! But I have a feeling it will be a green and a yellow shade. I am only guessing this due to the color of the description box Julep is showing for this box. It’s green and yellow and it said that the box contained a hint. LOL so that’s my guess. A yellow and a green. I do love brights though.

Anyone else getting a mystery box this go round?

Update: Some ladies have already received their box and the new colors are called Charlie and Korin. Charlie is a neon yellow and Korin is a neon green. Hmmmmm I was right!! As I’m sure many of you were. Also most of the boxes appear to be mostly nail polish. The “big daddy” box is version 7, but still appears to be mostly nail polish. I got Version 2 and am very happy! A detailed post on my box will be posted soon.

Julep Sea Salt Mystery Box is HERE!!!

My mystery box arrived and I got version #8 out of 11 possible versions. Box #11 is the “big daddy box” with all 3 sea salt polishes in it. I was pretty happy with my box, even though I got 2 dupes. I have already traded my dupes for polishes I really wanted on the Julep Swap group on Facebook.

Julep Announces Sea Salt Mystery box for April!!

Julep has announced a new mystery box for the month of April and it includes polishes with a “sea salt finish” which I am assuming is similar to Zoya’s pixie dust collection and OPI’s liquid sand collection? It’s a glitter/matte finish that resembles sand. I am excited about it and plan on getting a box. The box will contain $70-200 worth of products.

Image

Each box with contain at least 1 of 3 new Sea Salt finish polishes:

  • Madeline: pink blush sea salt finish
  • Sadie: black lava sea salt finish
  • Jill: smoked beige sea salt finish

Also one box with contain a $1000 visa gift card. Could you imagine getting that?! I don’t know what I’d do with myself.

As always, purchasing multiple boxes could result in polish and product overlap, so I just got 1 box.

Julep Spring Mystery Box: Version 1

I recently posted about the Julep Spring Mystery box. I’ll fully admit I was immediately drawn in to purchase one of these boxes. Unfortunately I was disappointed when my box arrived. I got Version 1 which is the lowest end box, and probably the one most people got. I guess deep down inside I knew I wouldn’t get the 200 dollar box, but I had this hope I would, and the anticipation was awesome! Then disappointment when I opened the box. Don’t get me wrong, I do think the box is worth 24.99, and the colors are pretty. I was just hoping I’d get an awesome box. But I didn’t. Life goes on. Would I buy another mystery box? Most likely. Here is my box:

Image

An ominous black box. What could be inside?

Image

I wonder?

Image

Everything minus the chocolate eggs. I ate them. Like immediately.

Image

Image

Things in the box:

1. 4 chocolate eggs: they were small yummy chocolate eggs. They looked very Easter-ly against the green grass decor that adorned the box. I liked them. Well played Julep. Well Played.

2. Julep Nail File: This thing is actually awesome. Really it is. Very good quality nail file. Insert happy nail file dance here.

3. Julep one step nail polish remover pads (10): Since 10 come in 1 pack I’m a little confused. Do you use 1 for each nail? I know 1 won’t work on all 10 nails right? Because if so, the other 9 would dry out. I haven’t tried these yet, but I’ve heard good things. We’ll see.

Image

4. Julep Daylight Defense SPF 30 Hand and Face Lotion: Retail price 28.00 so worth more than the whole dang box. So why am I not excited about this? I guess I feel like if I want sunscreen (which I do use daily when I’m exposed to the harsh sun) I’ll purchase some Hawaiian Tropic or something, and I sure as heck won’t pay 28 dollars for it. I’m sadly not super excited about this product. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised?

Image

5. Julep Polish in Lauren: I am really excited about this color. I love PINKS. I am crazy about PINKS. Pink is my favorite color. Pink on the lips on your lover, cause Pink is the love you discover…insert awesome Aerosmith song here. The website describes this delectable pink as a hot tropical pink. Pure awesomeness.

Image

6. Julep polish in Ashley: This color is not listed on the website, but it’s a coppery-orange frosty shimmery color. I won’t have an opinion until I use it. I do like the way it looks in the bottle. It may be awesome, or it may remind me of Thanksgiving which is not something I want to think about in spring. We’ll see.

Image

7. Julep Polish in Camille: This was the color everyone received. And I like it. It’s a nice clear glitter that I’m excited to use both alone, and as a topcoat.

Image

8. Hair ties: These may be my favorite thing in the box so far. They are awesome!! I love the neon colors, and they work well as both a hair tie, and a bracelet. So cute with a black top. Also I wore an adorable side ponytail yesterday with the neon pink.

All the polishes

So there you have it. My mystery box. The one I dreamt about. The one that let me down. Yes, I’m being dramatic, but I thought for sure I’d get the good one. Oh well, I’ll be fair. The box was worth the price of 24.99 I paid. And the anticipation was nice. I’d probably buy another one because you never know when you’ll get the GOOD one.

Which box did you receive? Were you happy with it?
