Mascara spotlight: Physicians Formula Organic wear Fake out

I bought this the other day at Ulta and I didn’t have extremely high hopes, but I was pleasantly surprised. This products boasts a 100% natural origin and 70% organic ingredient list, and claims a false lash effect. I tried out the shade called Ultra black, because I prefer the darkest lashes possible. I believe this mascara would be great for ladies with sensitive eyes or for those ladies who are “eco-friendly.” This product asks you “How green is your makeup?”

Lovely hot pink packaging with a “leaf-like” lid

When I opened the product, it almost looked dry. It didn’t appear wet like most mascaras I use. I’m sure that is due to the limited ingredient list. The brush, which is 100% recyclable, is oversized with small bristles that are hard in texture. I honestly did not think it would do much for my lashes.

I curled my lashes first, then applied 3 coats. It was harder to build up than some other mascaras I typically use, and I usually only use 2 coats, but needed 3 with this mascara. But the effect on my lashes was a completely natural looking long and feathery look! I love it for everyday wear! The mascara did not provide a lot of volume for me, but I still enjoyed the look very much.

It also feels a bit different than other mascaras, it did not dry “hard” and it almost felt like I was not wearing mascara at all. It stayed looking nice all through my 8 hour work shift, and washed off very easily when I removed my eye makeup.

All in all I enjoyed this mascara. I will wear it to work and when I don’t want as much volume and a more natural look. It has a “Princess-y whimsical” look to it.

Price: $9.95

Drugstore Spotlight-The Coolest Lipgloss in the WORLD!

I got this lipgloss during my last Target Haul. It was sort of an impulse buy since I RARELY buy Physicians Formula cosmetics. Nothing against them, I just don’t purchase many of their products. But boy oh boy am I glad I got this lipgloss!! It’s called pH matchmaker lipgloss and the color I got is simply called PINK. They also have a light pink which I absolutely NEED but I cannot find! I went to Ulta earlier today and they didn’t have any. *sadface* Anyway, it is supposed to react to your lighting and your unique pH to show your perfect color. And let me tell you my colors have been perfect thus far. I first tried this lipgloss before work the other day. I would consider my lighting at work to be kind of dull, not very bright, and my lipgloss looked dark and beautiful all day! Seriously ALL DAY. All through my 8 hour shift. It even remained after I ate lunch. It was markedly lighter, but I could still see it which is WAY more than I can say for most lip glosses. Then I did a video today and I applied it in my bright lighting I use for videos. And the color was different! Still beautiful, but maybe lighter than it was at work? I can’t put my finger on it. So besides being beautiful and long wearing, it feels amazing on my lips and isn’t sticky at all. I cannot stand sticky lip gloss. The price is around 9.95 which is a little on the high side for a drugstore lipgloss, but now that I’ve tried it, I can honestly say it was worth every penny and I’m definitely going to get the other shade (if I can find it). It doesn’t really have a scent or a taste in my opinion, and it comes equipped with some extra features. It has a brush-type applicator, and a built in mirror! The mirror is awesome for using at work. It also has a built in light which I find is awesome to use even if you have adequate lighting because you can see better which makes for a truly FLAWLESS application.
