Hit Polish: More Swatches for your viewing pleasure

Image

Today I’ve got some more gorgeous Hit Polish Nail Lacquer swatches for you! I did this review on them awhile back, and I was thrilled to be able to do another review! The polish is so unique and fun to wear AND photograph!

ImageImage

Recently Updated18-001

Aren’t they pretty?

I’m going to show you the swatches in the order that I swatched them. First up, we have Light Show.

Image

Glitters: fine- large; royal blue, grape purple, orange, turquoise, caymen blue and fuchsia/berry; holographic and metallic finish in hex and square shapes.

IMG_3948

I probably could have came up with at least 20 good undies to use for this very versatile glitter, but I went with black and white. I love glitter toppers over black and white. I feel like you just can’t go wrong with either of them with just about any color glitter combo.

ImageImageImage

Image

Image

Light show over Sinful Wisp

Image

Image

IMG_3669

This is such a fun glitter. The glitter is suspended in a clear base, and was very easy to apply. These swatches show 3 coats of glitter over black and white undies. I believe they would look equally as nice with 1-2 coats, but I love a dense glitter look so I used 3 coats. One thing I love about glitter toppers such as this is their versatility! You can spend an entire afternoon playing with them and trying out different undies. I also used a top coat to smooth out the finish and to add some shine.

Next is Sands of Time.

Recently Updated16

Glitters: ultra fine – small; silver, blue, green, red, copper, gold; holographic and metallic finish in hex shapes.

IMG_3945

I didn’t expect this glitter to be so dense, so these swatches show 3 coats over a white undie. After I was done, I totally thought to myself, I could have probably skipped the undie! Also because of the texture of this glitter, I think it would be perfect for nail art using stripping tape, in fact, I have some new stripping tape coming and I will probably try a stripe design with this.

IMG_3724

Sands of Time over Sinful Wisp

IMG_3727 IMG_3728 IMG_3730This one was also gorgeous with no flash.

IMG_3715

Sands of Time in normal overhead lighting, no flash

This is one awesome micro glitter polish. It smoothed over sooo nicely and because it’s a micro glitter, it almost appears to have a silver base color. I also love the way the colored pieces of glitter are so even distributed amongst the micro glitter. It really does resemble shimmering sand! I did use a top coat for some extra shine and to smooth out the top.

Next up is Random Access Memories.

Recently Updated17Glitters: utra fine- large; black, gold, silver; holographic finish in hex shapes. All in a black jelly base.

IMG_3944

This polish was inspired by Daft Punk’s new album cover, so I couldn’t resist including this GIF. I have a thang for GIFs.

tumblrlqrchrmewo1qj254qThis polish is absolutely stunning! One of my favorites from this lovely bunch. It sort of reminds me of a gorgeous night sky as seen through some kind of funky glasses or prisms.

IMG_3772 IMG_3775

IMG_3782

IMG_3780

How gorgeous is this?! This is one of those polishes that is pretty in the bottle, but totally transforms on the nails. When I applied this I think my heart skipped a beat when I got a good look at it. I LOVE LOVE me some scattered holo polishes, and especially ones with black bases. This is perfection. Like all the other Hit Polishes I’ve tried, the formula was great and the polish applied nicely. I used a top coat over 3 coats of Random Access Memories.

Last, but certainly not least (saying that never gets old for some reason) is Instant Crush. This is another one that absolutely transformed on my nails.

2013-07-21

Glitters: ultra fine- large; royal blue, orange, green, red, blue, fuchsia, teal, copper and gold ; holographic and metallic finish in hex shapes. All in a dark purple jelly base.

IMG_3940

Another Daft Punk inspired polish deserves another GIF. Enjoy.

tumblrmk6n8fkvym1rh1v81

I was not expecting this to be a jelly based polish until I applied it. Then I was all like “OMG this a jelly, and a purple jelly at that!” and it was pretty much love at first sight.

IMG_3795 IMG_3806 IMG_3807

IMG_3805

If you’ve read my blog before, you know I LOVE me some jelly polishes and this one is no exception. It’s awesome!! The dark purple jelly base really sort of “appears” when you make the first brush stroke, it’s not as obvious in the bottle. I used 3 coats of Instant Crush and a top coat in these swatches.

Check out Hit Polish, you won’t be disappointed! Full size bottles retail for only $8.50, while minis go for $3.75. All suspension bases are 3-free and all the polish is cruelty free. Also, spend over $30 from now until July 31st and receive a free Customer Appreciation polish.

Mentality Polish: Raucous and Suede Swatches

Image

I recently had the extreme pleasure of trying some Mentality polish for the first time. It was an amazing experience, and one that I plan to repeat over and over. Mentality is run by a husband and wife team out of their home. I think that is freakin’ awesome. Seriously? I wish I could get my husband on board for something like that. I think it’s refreshing to see a husband and wife sharing something like this.

The thing that drew me to Mentality was the beautiful matte shades they offer. But these shades aren’t just simply matte, they are shimmery AND matte. It’s hard to explain, but when you glide these colors over your nails, you will see what I mean. Besides mattes, they also offer a large variety of beautiful holo shades, as well as some very unique top coats. The polishes are 4 free, and are very VERY affordable. Most 15 ml (0.5 oz) bottles sell for $6.50, and they have several package deals where you can get 5 bottles for $30 dollars. Guess what else? Are you ready for this? Shipping is FREE to the US!!! International shipping rates vary by country. Their online store is simple and easy to navigate allowing you to focus your attention on the polish. You’ve really just got to visit the store to see for yourself. I could go on and on about this polish, but instead I’ll show you some pictures!

Image

I tried Raucous from the Matte collection, and Suede, from the top coat collection.

Image

Image

Raucous is a brown matte with a very subtle shimmer and blue green flash

Surprisingly, I don’t own many, if any browns like this. I was thrilled when I saw this because it’s so different from shades I already own.

ImageImageImageImage

Do you see what I mean about it being matte AND shimmery?? It’s soooo unique and I was instantly in love. These swatches show 2 coats of Raucous over a base coat with no top coat. The formula is amazing!! It’s a thicker formula so I recommend using thin coats, and it dries quickly, so make sure each coat is dry before applying the next coat to avoid smudges and lumps.  I did notice that any unevenness evened right out as the polish dried. Applying this reminded me of delicious melted chocolate. It glided so perfectly over my nail. The brush is a square brush and I found it to help make application flawless!

Image

Raucous with top coat

I added a topcoat in the above photo just to see what would happen. It’s also soooo pretty! It seemed to emphasize the shimmery-ness of the polish.

Image

Image

Suede is a shimmery top coat that dries to a matte finish to turn any polish into a suede finish nail polish.

ImageImageImage

Image

This might just be the most amazing special effect top coat I’ve ever used. It glided on seamlessly and really transformed the base coat. The above photos show Suede over Raucous.

Image

Raucous with and without Suede top coat

I also tried Suede over Age of Aquarius by color club. The effect was just as stunning over a cream base color.

Image

Age of Aquarius before and after Suede top coat

ImageImage

How gorgeous is that?! I will definitely be using Suede again and again.

I know you want to go browse the mentality online store, and as an added incentive, they are currently offering a sale of 20% off their already low prices with code FACTORY at check out. I’ve already tried it and it’s up and working!!

Thanks for looking and let me know if you decide to try some Mentality polish! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

*disclaimer-I received these 2 polishes free of charge, but my opinions are 100% honest and reflect my personal experience.

Meet Jellie Polish

Let me preface this post by admitting that I am obsessed with jelly polishes. The way they glide over my nail, the way they show just a bit of nail line, they way they look…well like jelly!

Today I have some gorgeous swatches to show you guys from Jellie Polish, an up and coming Indie polish company! Nadia, who started Jellie polish, hand makes all her gorgeous jelly polishes. They are not for sale yet since she is just getting started, but hopefully they will be soon!! In the mean time you can visit her facebook page to see some more lovely colors she has created! She is an awesome person, so feel free to ask her any questions.

I have a huge crush on jelly based polishes (did I say that already?). My love interest started when the Texas collection by OPI came out. I was fairly new to the obsession of nail polish at that point and I’d never experienced a jelly polish before. I was hooked. Now when I see a jelly polish, I get butterflies! These lovelies were no exception!

Image

Ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on Purple Passion and Dr. Seuss!! I think my heart skipped a beat when I opened my nail mail and saw these beauties!! Jelly + glitter = sensory overload!! In the best way possible of course!

First let’s check out Dr. Seuss.

Image

Image

Dr. Seuss is AMAZING! It contains several different glitters. Let’s see if I can name them all: light bright blue hexes and squares, green hexes and squares, white hexes and squares, black hexes and squares, yellow hexes and squares, and red hexes and squares. Did I miss any? All these pretty glitters are swimming in a steel blue jelly base.

ImageImageImageImage

Applying this to my nails was a dream! I used 3 thin coats in these swatches along with OPI top coat. The glitter was very evenly dispersed in the base, so little shaking was required. I also found the glitters spread very evenly on my nail without much manipulation.

Purple lovers rejoice! I now give you Purple Passion.

Image

Image

This work of art contains (3?) different shades of purple glitters in both squares and hexes in a grape purple jelly base.

ImageImageImageImage

These swatches also show 3 coats of Purple Passion with OPI top coat. Application was the same as with Dr. Seuss, so pretty much awesome. I also love the square bottles that Nadia uses.

Image

Don’t forget to like the Jellie Polish facebook page and let Nadia know you saw her gorgeous polishes on my blog. ❤

Northern Star Polish: Purrfection and Sleepy Kitty Swatches

Image

Image

This is my first post on the Indie brand Northern Star Polish, but it sure won’t be my last! I want to give a bit of background info on Northern Star Polish before I delve into the swatches (which I am very happy with!) Kristin, who created Northern Star Polish, opened in March of 2012. She mixes each bottle of polish by hand, one bottle at a time. Stainless steel mixing balls are included in each bottle so it’s easy to mix the polish if needed, and Northern Star polish is also big-4 free and cruelty free!

Today I will be swatching 2 gorgeous shades that are currently available for purchase! 15 ml bottles retail for $9.00. Northern Star Polish also offers some amazing cuticle oil! Sampler packs range from $4.50-$5.50. I also love the unique bottles the polish comes in! I haven’t seen any quite like them.

Image

First up we have Purrfection.

Image

And this shade is certainly perfection.

Image

Purrfection is a rose pink base with white pearly flake glitter – opaque in two coats. No need to layer it over anything else!

ImageImageImageImage

Thoughts-I love this color!! The formula is on the thick side, but very easy to apply. The swatches show 2 coats with a top coat. I love the subtlety of the pearly sheen in this polish. It looks fairly subdued from far away, but when you get close, you see there is a lot more to Purrfection than you originally thought. This dried smoothly and quickly.

Next, check out the awesomeness of Sleepy Kitty.

Image

This polish reminds me of those clear kitty balls that have bright colors inside them and roll around. So I think the sleepy kitty may be dreaming about them. 🙂

Kitten-dreams-mom-cat-hugs

Image

Sleepy Kitty is a glitter topper with a white shimmery base and filled with pink butterflies, pastels, white, and hop pink glitters.

ImageImageImage

Image

Thoughts-I knew Sleepy kitty would look good over Purrfection, but I didn’t know it would look THIS good. I love this combination!! The glitter was very easy to work with. The swatches show 2 coats over 2 coats of Purrfection. I shook the bottle between coats, but I found the glitter stayed VERY dispersed on it’s own.

Image

This is 2 coats of Sleepy Kitty over Nicole Give me the 1st Dance. So pretty!! I also think this would look good over pinks, blacks and whites!

I also got some Northern Star Cuticle oil to try and it was amazing!! It smelled so good and made my cuticles nice and smooth and moisturized. I actually brought it to work with me and applied it a few times since I have to wash my hands so much. It was a great experience and I definitely recommend it!

Shimmer Polish: Review and Swatches

Image

Image

This is going to be a long post with lots of pictures because I’m reviewing 5 lovely Shimmer Polishes, but it will be totally worth it! I received 5 gorgeous polishes to review, but first I want to give you a bit of information about the polishes. Shimmer polish is based out of California. The Shimmer Polish Etsy shop opened in 5/12 and in just a little over a year has accumulated almost 1500 sales. So what’s the big deal? The big deal is the gorgeous-ness of this polish! It really is stunning. All the polishes are glitters, either in clear or light colored suspension bases. They are all named after ladies. A lot of polish companies do that, but the difference here is that all Shimmer polishes are named after real women that the creator personally knows. I like wearing polish named after a real person even if I don’t know them. It makes it feel more personal to me because I find myself making my own personal connections with the names.

The polishes retail for $12.00 a bottle and are 15 ml bottles. The bottles come beautifully labeled with their namesake and a color-coordinated heart jewel. I appreciate little details like this since I’m a collector and bottles such as these look beautiful displayed.

Image

Did I mention they were also a blast to photograph?

ImageImageImage

First up is Jennifer.

Image

Image

Soft Blue, Periwinkle Glitter Polish!

Image

Since these are glitters, I felt it was important to show them with and without flash, which I have done for each shade.

ImageImage

Swatches show Poshe base coat with 3 coats of Jennifer, followed by Seche top coat. The glitter in this polish is suspended in a clear base, but I achieved nearly opaque coverage in 3 coats. Jennifer sparkles with and without flash.

Next we have Leslie.

IMG_2912

IMG_2862

Swatches show Poshe base coat with 3 coats of Leslie, followed by Seche top coat. The glitter in this polish is suspended in a clear base as well, but I did achieve nearly opaque coverage in 3 coats. I think Leslie looks the most different in flash vs no flash than any of the polishes I swatched. One of my favorites from the 5!!

Next, check out the gorgeous Eva.

IMG_2833

2013-06-267

Burgandy Red with a hint of Silver Sparkly Polish!
Fine microglitter

2013-07-021IMG_2923 IMG_2933This is the only shade I swatched that contained a color base. The base is a deep burgundy leaning red color with fine microglitter. Like the other swatches, these show 3 coats of Eva over Poshe base coat and under Seche top coat. Eva looked very vampy on my nails (which I love! Especially while watching True Blood). In person the finish resembles a sand textured polish. It dried semi-matte which was made more shiny by the addition of the top coat. You could skip top coat for a more matte appearance.

You still hanging in there? Good!

Next, check out Jasmine.

IMG_2834

2013-06-270

Aquamarine, light blue and green Glitter Polish!

2013-07-023IMG_2948 IMG_2962How gorgeous is Jasmine? I think this may be my favorite of the 5. The light green and aquamarine glitters are stunning in high and low lighting. Swatches show 3 coats over Poshe base and with Seche top coat on top.

I saved Nichole for last because the colors are patriotic and it’s almost July 4th. 🙂

*Nichole is 15% off in the etsy shop until July 7th in honor of Independence day!

IMG_2835 2013-06-268

Red, Silver and Blue Melange Glitter Polish!
Patriotic Shimmer!

2013-07-024IMG_3001

IMG_3003

Nichole, like the all the other polishes, was a dream to apply. Especially for being glitters, these really just glide right over the nail perfectly even. This is a gorgeous patriotic polish. Swatches show 3 coats over Poshe base and topped with Seche top coat. This was one of my favorites and it really got me psyched for July 4th.

Overall I love these polishes! I am a huge glitter nail polish fan, but since you can do so much with these in terms of layering and nail art, I think they will appeal to a large audience. The formula was great, applied smoothly, and dried quickly. The glitter is dense, and yet I hardly even had to shake them up to get full dispersion.

When you visit the Shimmer Polish Etsy shop, you can see a lot more swatches that feature more nail art which these polishes are great for! I am not super good at nail art (yet), so I opted to do swatches with just the polish itself with no base color. So keep in mind these polishes are superb for layering over different base colors, glitter gradients, stamping, and other nail art. The possibilities are endless and you can really let your creative self let loose.

I hope you’re interested in owning your own Shimmer Polish or just looking at some more gorgeous swatches! If you are you can visit the following locations:

Hit Polish: Review and Swatches

Image

Today I’m going to show you some lovely glitter polishes from Hit Polish Nail Lacquer. Hit Polish Nail Lacquer is an independently (aka indie!!) owned polish company that specializes in glitter top coats. You can gaze upon all the lovely polishes and purchase them HERE in the etsy shop. If you act quickly, you can get in on a sale going on that includes 20% off everything!! This makes minis $2.60 (normally $3.25) and full sizes $6.40 (normally $8.00)!! If I wasn’t flat out broke I’d be going a little crazy right now because there are some gorgeous polishes I have my eye on!  I’ll show you my suggestions at the end of this review.

I was impressed with how well Rachel conveyed her policies and descriptions and I wanted to directly copy and paste her product description:

Product Description:♥ Each bottle is made INDIVIDUALLY from my own custom blend of glitters, pigments/micas(possibly) and a wonderful base made specifically for glitter. Our base is also “3-Free”. This means they do not contain the Toxic Trio of chemicals: Toluene, Formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate. 🙂 We include STAINLESS STEEL bb’s as well. (2 in each bottle).

This is her full time job, and it’s very obvious that she takes great pride in her polishes, and it really shows!! She also does extensive testing on all polishes before releasing them, at least 9 months worth! The way I was notified my package was shipped via email was a great professional touch that I really appreciated! So before I even tried out the polishes, I was already thoroughly impressed with Hit Polish Nail Lacquer.

And my opinions only went up from there.

ImageImage

I received these 2 beauties called Rendezvous and Opening Scene. These polishes are not set to be released until July 15, but now you can get a sneak peek at some lovely glitters!!

ImageImage

Opening Scene is a gorgeous densely packed glitter with a dominant color of a beautiful turquoise in both small squares and medium hexes, but which also includes accents of: Red Squares and hexes, Magenta circles or hexes, maybe both? Small gold hexes and large gold circles and/or hexes, and small purple hexes. I am sure I left something out! All in a clear base perfect for topcoats, glitter jelly sandwiches, and even by itself!

Image

Image

ImageImage

Image

I used 3 coats of Opening scene with Seche Vite topcoat and the coverage was nearly opaque. Application was smooth and hassle free. The glitters were nicely suspended in the base with no obvious clumping of glitters. As with all glitters you should give it a nice shake before using and in between coats.

ImageImageImage

I decided to use this one as a top coat as well, and I thought black would be pretty. This is 2 coats of BL union jack black with 2 coats of Opening scene on top, followed by Seche Vite top coat. I thought it was stunning, and the pics did not do this combination justice. I think this particular glitter would look amazing over several colors. Magenta pink and turquoise immediately come to mind.

Next is Rendezvous which is another gorgeous glitter. The dominant color appears to be  magenta and orange with accents of lavender and gold. All different shaped glitters can be found in this lovely creation. 🙂

Image

Image

ImageImage

Image

The formula for this one was identical to Opening Scene, so I had no issue whatsoever with application. The pictures show 3 coats of Rendezvous with Seche Vite topcoat.

ImageImage

Image

I just love a good glitter jelly sandwich, and this one was no exception! I used Julep Candy glaze for this lovely combination. 2 coats of candy followed by 1 coat of Rendezvous, followed by 1 more coat of Candy.

Here’s a few random shots I wanted to share:

Image

This is Opening scene without flash, the only one that I could get to look pretty!

Image

I really liked this one of Rendezvous because of the depth of field I was able to capture.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed these polishes from Hit Polish Nail Lacquer. When you visit Rachel’s facebook page, you’ll read “You’ll be a Hit in our Nail Polish” and judging by the 2 that I’ve experienced, I’d say that that’s a highly accurate statement. My nails were blinged out and beautiful sporting these glitter polishes.

*disclaimer-The last 3 photographs were pulled from the Hit Polish Nail Lacquer Etsy Shop, I have not tried them, they just look gorgeous! Also the polish I did review was received free of charge for the purpose of review, but all always my opinions are 100% my own.

Sick Lacquers: Review and Swatches

Image

Image

Sick Lacquers can be found on etsy and is based out of Baltimore. Peggie and her son Jonathan have created a shop that contains a HUGE variety of hand made, 3 free polish. And I do mean a HUGE variety! Full size polishes retail for $7, and minis are $3.50. Very affordable for this quality of polish and indie polish in general.

Image

First I’m going to show you a fun polish called Hubba Bubba.

Image

Hubba Bubba is a beautiful crelly light bubblegum pink colored nail polish. This has tons of different sizes & colors of hex glitter throughout.

ImageImageImageImageImage

I really liked this! A bubblegum pink with a variety of colors and shapes of glitter. Not too much glitter or too little glitter, but just right. This was a dream to apply, it went on very smoothly and dried shiny. I did use 1 coat of Seche base, 3 coats of Hubba Bubba, and 1 coat of OPI topcoat. This was almost opaque, but I could still see just a teeny bit of my nail line. Sometimes I like to show a little nail line though, so it’s all good.

Image

Next I give you, Neon Night Life.

Image

Neon Night Life is a beautiful pale yellow colored nail polish. This has tons of different sizes of neon colored hex & bar glitter glitter

throughout.

ImageImageImageImageImage

The formula of this is identical to Hubba Bubba, so it was also very easy to work with. I wore this one to work and my male co-worker commented on it and said my finger nails looked like “those Easter eggs people make” which meant he liked it! I love the neon in this polish paired with the more toned down base. My swatches show 2 coats of Neon Night Life over Seche base coat and under OPI top coat.

Overall I was pleased with the formulation and wear of this polish. It applies flawlessly and looks beautiful!

If you’d like to check out Sick Lacquers (which I highly recommend!) you can visit:

*I did receive these free of charge with the purpose of reviewing. As always my views and opinions are 100% my own.

LAVlacquer: Review and Swatches

iusb_760x100.11962440_ezkm

2013-06-1312

Today I will be showcasing a brand new Indie polish called LAVlacquer. Dij, who runs LAVlacquer just opened up shop on June 5.  Each of her polishes is hand crafted, and the ingredients are never tested on animals. Glitter suspension bases are 5 free and solid colors are 3 free. The thing that drew me to this polish was the incredible uniqueness of each shade and glitter combo.

Full size polishes retail for $8.75 and minis are $4.25. A small price to pay for some really awesome and unique nail polish!

Image

Image

First we have an very unique glitter creation called Just Like Candy.

Image

Just like Candy glitter nail polish reminds us of some tasty candy!!! Tiny yellow hexes are mixed with red glitter bars and gorgeous red hearts. This combo is so much fun and so unique!!!! This polish is made with a clear suspension base so you can place it over any color of your choice or wear it by itself with 3 coats fabulously!!!

*Although not in the description, I had a few green 3d hexes in mine, and one showed up on my index finger. I felt this added to the character of the polish and left it.

ImageImageImageImageImageImage

  • Index finger:  1 coat of Seche base, 1 coat of Julep Charlie, 2 Coats of Just Like Candy, 1 coat of OPI top coat.
  • Middle finger: 1 coat of Seche base, 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow, 2 Coats of Just Like Candy, 1 coat of OPI top coat.
  • Ring finger: 1 coat of Seche base, 1 coat of BL Union Jack Black, 2 Coats of Just Like Candy, 1 coat of OPI top coat.
  • Pinky: 1 coat of Seche base, 2 coats of Just Like Candy, 1 coat of OPI top coat

I loved this polish! It’s so much fun and reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. The base of this polish was easy to work with. I do recommend a quick shake before using as with all glitters of this nature, and I did have to do some fishing for the hearts, also to be expected with glitters that have larger glitters that may sink to the bottom. All the glitters laid flat on my nails after applying OPI top coat.

tumblr_mdqmoeal9a1ryl0f3o1_500

Next we have a party in a bottle called Slumber Party.

Image

Slumber Party glitter nail polish (where do I begin?!?!?!) is packed with almost every gorgeous color you can think of !!!! In this polish there are tiny hexes in the colors deep purple, light green, and light blue. Then we have grand hexes in the color Turquoise, illuminating silver and light pink beautiful butterflies!!!!

ImageImageImageImageImage

  • Index finger:  1 coat of Seche base with Glitter sandwich using 2 coats of Julep Candy with 1 coat of Slumber Party in the middle.
  • Middle finger: 1 coat of Seche base, 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow, 1 Coat of Slumber Party, 1 coat of OPI top coat.
  • Ring finger: 1 coat of Seche base, 1 coat of BL Union Black Jack, 1 Coat of Slumber Party, 1 coat of OPI top coat.
  • Pinky: 1 coat of Seche base, 2 coats of Slumber Party, 1 coat of OPI top coat

This really is a party in a bottle! So much going on, and oh so pretty!! Just one coat of this polish produced almost opaque coverage, although the base is clear. Definitely shake well before using since this is a very densely packed glitter polish. My favorite in this was the light pink butterflies! Like with Just like Candy, the glitters laid flat after applying a top coat.  I found this easy to apply despite it being so densely packed.

Lastly, we have this holographic masterpiece called Purple Matter.

Image

Purple Matter glitter nail polish is any purple lover’s dream!! Not only does this polish contain specs of beautiful tiny purple hexes but the holographic hexes give off different colors depending on which way they

are turned!!

IMG_2255-001

IMG_2259 IMG_2268IMG_2282 IMG_2283

The first word that comes to mind when seeing this polish for the first time is CAPTIVATING! Seriously, this is one of the most gorgeous non-linear holos I’ve ever seen! The swatches show 1 coat of Seche base, 2 coats of Purple Matter, and 1 coat of OPI topcoat. In the etsy store, this polish is described as being almost indescribable, and it really is! It’s way more beautiful in person, than on camera. This applied smoothly, and dried quick. The formula is on the thicker side and it dries with some texture. This is opaque without the need for a base color.

  • If you want your own polish from LAVlacquer you can purchase in the etsy shop HERE.
  • Also like the LAVlacquer facebook page!

*I did receive these free of charge with the purpose of reviewing. As always my views and opinions are 100% my own.

Indie Polish Spotlight: Glitterfied Nails

Image

Raspberry Ice, 24 kt Gold, and Razzleberry

Image

First I tried Razzleberry!

Image

Custom hand mixed shimmer nail polish in bright, shimmery hot pink, with a flash of violet. Wear alone in 1-3 coats. Totally opaque in 3 coats. Top with a glitter polish for even more pizzazz.

ImageImageImageImage

This is a lovely light pink frost. The swatches are shown with Seche base coat, 3 coats of Razzleberry, and OPI top coat. This applied smoothly and dried quickly. I recommend 3 thin coats for non-streaky opaque coverage. This lovely gem will show up several times in this review, because it happens to make a great base coat for glitter!

Next we have Raspberry Ice!

Image

Glitter nail polish in shades of rose pink holographic, hot pink and magenta in a clear base. This color combo will definitely get attention. Wear alone or over your favorite colored polish for a unique look.

I love it when I swatch a polish, then I read the creator’s description and it’s RIGHT ON. This was the case with Raspberry Ice, it’s a beautiful pink glitter with a pinch of holographic shine that shows up in all the right places. This was very easy to apply, not thick or goopy whatsoever and smoothed effortlessly over all the base coats I used.

Lastly, feast your eyes on 24 kt Gold.

Image

All gold glitters in a clear base. Micro-fine and ultra-fine to fine and medium sizes. Glitter shapes include hexes, circles and holographic squares. Wear alone in 1-3 coats. Or try over a colored base coat for extra pizzazz.

ImageImageMuch like Raspberry Ice, 24 kt Gold was a dream to work with. It smoothed so easily and evenly! There is a bit more holographic glitter in this one, and in my opinion this makes it perfect for layering and for glitter gradients! Below I did a glitter gradient with 24 kt Gold over Razzleberry.

ImageImage

Overall I was very impressed with these polishes. I’m still wearing the gradient and I can’t stop looking at my nails and moving them around to see the sparkling! As good as my camera is, these pictures don’t show the true beauty of these glitters. They are even more gorgeous in person!

Indie Polish Spotlight: Fantasy Nail Lacquer

Image

Today I have some amazing swatches to show you from a new Indie polish store on etsy called Fantasy Nail Lacquer. Cas opened her shop on May 1st, so she really is brand new, but I have a feeling her follower list will grow when people get a look at the beauties she has created.

The following polishes can be purchased HERE in the Fantasy nail Lacquer etsy shop, and full size bottles retail for $8 while minis go for $4. You can also get 3 minis for $10 or 3 full size bottles for $20. That is a steal!! These polishes are gorgeous and high quality! They are all 3-free as well.

ImageImage

I know what you’re thinking and you’re right!!! These are gorgeous! Today I’ll be showing you 3 colors that were just released TODAY. These are brand new and ready to be on your nails.

First up we have one of the most BEAUTIFUL holos I’ve ever laid my eyes on. It’s called Semi-Automatic and it’s from The Lawful Line.

Image

Semi-Automatic is a deep charcoal gray linear holographic polish.

The Lawful Line was inspired by some of my favorite television shows as well as in memory of my father, who was in the law enforcement field.

Semi-Automatic represents the guns carried by the men and women who are dedicated to serving their communities.

Image

This is a GORGEOUS deep charcoal linear holo polish. The above swatches show 3 coats of semi-automatic over seche base coat. I used Seche top coat which did cause some tip shrinkage as you can see in the photos, but it did not take away any of the beautiful holo goodness. This polish was easy to apply and dries smooth.  The linear holographic-ness in this polish is VERY obvious, even in low lighting. Holo lovers will LOVE this polish.

Next we have another polish from The Lawful Line called Ten-Four.

Image

Ten-Four is a clear based polish packed with gold glitter, as well as three different blue glitters. Ten-Four represents the famous saying recited by police officers all over the country. The colors of Ten-Four were inspired by the uniform worn by my father as a police officer.

With Flash

When I applied this polish there was a silence in the room, followed by a collective “ahhhhh”….it’s a gorgeous densely packed glitter that sparkles so beautifully. I photographed some of these swatches without flash because I felt you could see the color more accurately. The only swatch shown with flash is the top one, and the macro shot. There are gold hexes that flash holo, 2 different sizes of smaller blue glitter and larger blue hexes densely packed in a clear base. This was a dream to apply, not thick or goopy at all. The above swatches are shown with 3 coats of Ten-Four with OPI top coat. I felt I didn’t need a base coat color since it applied almost opaque by itself, but I think it would look great over a blue or gold or even black polish. The possibilities are endless!

Lastly, we have Camillia from the new In Bloom Collection.

Image

Camillia is a light pink base filled with fine silver holographic glitter. Camillia does dry semi-matte with texture from the glitter. One coat with a top coat will smooth out the texture as well as add shine.

This is a gorgeous light pink polish with fine holographic glitter. This is SOOO gorgeous in the sun, it just sparkles! This is quick drying and it dries semi matte with some texture. The top photo shows no top coat and the rest are shown with OPI topcoat.
